MeropeStyle® – VarioFlex®

Surgical treatment of the knee requires temporary postoperative stabilisation of the knee joint before starting subsequent intensive physiotherapy. In the immediate postoperative period, the joint must be kept stable and motion restricted. Four important ligaments have a stabilising effect on the knee joint:  the MCL (medial collateral ligament) stabilises the knee on its medial side, the LCL (lateral collateral ligament) stabilises the knee on its lateral side. Furthermore the ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) and the PCL (posterior cruciate ligament) stabilise the joint centrally, the ACL lying in front of the PCL, both together building a cross. Ligament injuries lead to instability of the knee joint. Rupture of a collateral ligament affects the mediolateral stability (varus/valgus), whereas injuries to the cruciate ligaments influence the anteroposterior and rotational stability of the knee. The MeropeStyle® Proflex® knee brace supports and stabilises the knee after ligament injuries and surgeries while keeping the patient mobile.

Use:

The MeropeStyle ® – Varioflex™ – Knee brace not only allows for immobilisation in any desired flexed position, but also limits flexion and extension mobility as individually required, in 10°, 15° or 30° steps. In addition, the knee joint is stabilised collaterally. The knee itself remains uncovered, allowing for easy access to the surgical wounds at any time. The MeropeStyle ® – Varioflex™ – Knee brace presents an alternative to soft knee braces, fixing the leg in a defined flexed position. The brace offers more options concerning the degree of flexion than traditional braces. Furthermore, it can also be used for careful mobilisation of the affected knee. Due to its huge variety of optional applications the MeropeStyle ® – Varioflex™ – Knee brace can be used during the entire rehabilitation period, which makes it very cost-effective. The design suits the left and right leg, making it a storage-friendly solution as well.
